In Benwell (St.James) Churchyard is a family headstone for Reed which reads:

Erected in loving memory of
William Guy Reed of Benwell
Died Dec. 14th 1908 aged 62 years
Also Elizabeth his wife
Died May 17th 1911 aged 61 years
Also of Pte. T.J. Reed son of the above
Killed in action June 1st 1919 aged 24 years.
In that resurrection morning
Soul and body meet again
No more sorrow, no more weeping
No more pain.
