On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1090020 Sergeant Gerald Gray, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 02/01/1943.

In Wallsend Church Bank Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Nina, the beloved wife of George Gray,
who died 1st July 1938, aged 50 years.
Also Leslie, their son, who died in infancy.
Also their son
Sergt. Gerald Gray Ft/Eng. R.A.F.
who was killed in action
Jan. 2nd 1943, aged 22 years.
Also the above George Gray
who died 11th Feb. 1952 aged 66 years.
