Podmore, W.N., Pte., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 10567 Private William Norman Podmore, serving with the Royal Fusiliers who died 07/10/1916.

10567 Private PODMORE William Norman
Royal Fusiliers, 9th Battalion.

He was born at Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, Yorkshire. A Manager residing at Wallsend, he was Initiated on the 11th March 1911; Passed 20th April 1911 and Raised on the 25th May 1911 and was a Steward of his Lodge. He enlisted at Wallsend and was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme on the 7th October 1916 aged 35 and is Remembered on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, Pier and Face 8C, 9A and 16A.

He is named on the Roll of Honour in Freemasons Hall, London, as being a member of 2703 Wallsend Lodge.

He is remembered at Wallsend on W7.11, W7.21 and W7.27
