Wynn, J., A/Smn., 1915
On the Helles Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/494 Able Seaman Joseph Wynn, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 06/05/1915.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Joseph was born on 29th September 1893. He was working as an apprentice fitter living with his parents, Thomas and Bridget at 38, Myrtle Grove, Wallsend when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 20th October 1914.

Joseph joined the Anson Battalion on 8th February 1915 and was killed in action in Gallipoli on 6th May 1915.

Joseph Wynn is remembered in Wallsend on W7.03
