The Lincolnshire Echo of Wednesday 08/10/1947 reported the following:
CYCLIST DIES
An R.A.F. sergeant, Robert Wilson (41), of Hemswell R.A.F. station, died to-day in the John Coupland Hospital, Gainsborough, from head injuries received last night when he fell from his machine while cycling down Hemswell Hill.
