Egerton/Edgerton, G., civilian, 1943
Boldon, Urban District reported the death of Civilian Gordon Edgerton serving as an Air Raid Warden who died 12/03/1943 aged 19.

His name is variously given as Egerton and Edgerton.

Gordon Egerton is named in the Scout Roll of Honour 1939-45 as having served with the 28th South Shields group. He was killed by a bomb whilst on duty.

Gordon Egerton is remembered in West Boldon on W99.04 and on W99.07 and in Jarrow on J2.15b
