Stonehouse, A., Cdr., O.B.E. 1914-18
The Whitley Bay Observer 12/03/1920 reports:

"Commander Stonehouse, O.B.E.
Amongst those present at the recent investiture by the King at Buckingham Palace was Commander Andrew Stonehouse, R.D., R.N.R. of Brodrick Street, South Shields, who received the O.B.E. (Military Division) for work in France as First Grade Naval transport officer. Commander Stonehouse saw three years’ service, and was mentioned in dispatches. He is now with the Mexican Petroleum Oil Company, filling the position of superintendent of the Lawe Works at South Shields.”
