He was born in 1899 in South Shields and was the son of George and Grace McKenzie, of 13, Dulverton Avenue, South Shields.
He was a pupil at Westoe Secondary School.
He had enlisted in Sunderland.
He died of wounds on the 30th October 1918.
He is remembered at Harton on H104.03
