Death recorded on BMD Deaths Jun 1943. John J. Brown age 23 Whitchurch 6a 779

Sgt. Brown was serving with 81 O.T.U. He was a crew member of Whitley V EB405-A which took of from Sleap on a night training exercise. It crashed into trees and tried to land twice. The aircraft burst into flames, killing all five crew members.
