Private William Alfred Bryan, Army Service Corps (SS/7476), Buried: 22 January 1962, aged 69. Jarrow Cemetery. 13.455.

Son of Alfred a steel-smelter in a steel works and Annie Bryan of 85 Howard Street, Jarrow (in 1911).

His father, Alfred, was born in Warwick and was 44 in 1911. His mother, Annie, was born in Jarrow and she was also 44 in 1911.

Siblings (1911 ages; all born in Jarrow): Annie (20), John (8), Madge (6) and Olive Mary (4).

Born in Jarrow - South Shields – September quarter 1893. Employed as a bricklayer’s labourer in 1911.

Enlisted on 22 March 1915. No 1914-5 Star. Discharged on medical grounds on 17 June 1916 and awarded the Silver War Badge. A labourer residing at 87 Lindisfarne Road, Jarrow, in January 1962.

He is remembered at Jarrow on J2.22
