Vin Mullen has provided the following:

Samson Henry Acres born Hertford 1879. Lived Hertford. Son of Samson and Sarah Acres (nee Somerville) Death recorded on BMD
Deaths Mar 1915. Sampson H. Acres 35. S.Shields 10a 1254.

HMS Murray, an M Class destroyer, was the first ship to carry the name, built by Palmer at Jarrow. It was laid down on 4th December 1913, launched 6th August 1914 and completed in December 1914. Sold 9th May 1921 to Ward of Briton Ferry. Broken up January 1923.

Samson Acres must have died in an accident before his ship left the Tyne?
