In Fins New British Cemetery, Sorel-le-Grand, Somme, France is the Commonwealth War Grave of 186858 Gunner Edward Bell serving with the "D" Battery, 63rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery who died 12/12/1917.

In Hebburn Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

Elizabeth beloved wife of
Thomas W. Bell
who died Jan. 5th 1906 aged ?? years
and of Edward Bell
dearly loved son of the above
killed in action in France
Dec. 12th 1917
aged 20 years

father of the aforesaid

died Feb. 24th 1907
aged 76 years

beloved daughter of
Edward and Barbara McNeil
died Feb. 20th 1908
aged 36 years

who died and was buried at Sea
