The Auckland Chronicle 03/07/1919 reports:

“Presumed killed.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Leavy, of Station Town, have received word that their son, Pte. Chas Leavy, East Yorks, who was reported missing on 12 April 1918, is now presumed to have been killed on that date. This is the second of their sons to make the great sacrifice. Three other sons have served overseas. One was discharged, severely wounded, and two are still in the Forces.”
