In loving memory of
Pte. Joseph Gale No. 5959
7th Batt. Royal Sussex Regiment
beloved son of Joseph and Isabella Gale of South Hetton
who died in Eastbourne Hospital March 30th 1916
aged 24 years
What pain he bore we cannot tell
We did not see him die
But this we know that he has gone
And could not say good bye
He gave his life for his ?friends
Joseph Gale is remembered at South Hetton on S127.03 and S127.05
