In Rue-Du-Bacquerot (13th London) Graveyard, Laventie is the Commonwealth War Grave of 16483 Private Norman Lancelot Young serving with 10th (Service) Battalion, The Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) who died 10/11/1915.

Norman was born on the 16th May 1893 at New Herrington, he was the third son of James Young, of 21 South Railway Street, Seaham Harbour, Miner and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of John Stephenson.

Norman was educated at Herrington. He was employed at the Empire Theatre at Seaham Harbour.

He had enlisted on the 7th September 1914, and served in France and Flanders. He was killed in action on the 19th November 1915.
