In Hill 10 Cemetery, Turkey, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 16969 Private George Ernest Nesbitt serving with the 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment who died 16/12/1915.

Son of George T. and Elizabeth Nesbtit, of 10, East Villas, Haswell, Co. Durham.

In Easington Village Durham Road Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

beloved wife of Peter Raine
of Haswell who died Feb. 8th 1920
Aged 34 years

also of the above Peter Raine
Died Feb. 1st 1953 aged 68 years

George and Elizabeth Nesbitt
who died of wounds at Sulva Bay
