Fishwick, W.G., Pte., 1915
In Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of15442 Private W. Fishwick serving with the East Yorkshire Regiment who died 21/06/1915.

Lovingly remembered ....

James Ellard, M.B.E., nephew of Pte. Fishwick, has sent this in the hope that he may learn of members of the family at Horden.

"I am 83 and just felt like looking up relatives who may be in Horden where I was born. Sadly, I read that my cousin Noreen Milsen, nee Fishwick, was buried last month (July 2017) and wanted to make contact with any of the family I knew so long ago. My parents moved to Kent just prior to WW2 and I was evacuated back to Horden during the blitz in London.

The other story is that all my family have visited the grave of W.G. 'Billy' Fishwick in Kemmel Cemetery.

I will still attempt to find any Fishwicks in the area."

The caption to the second photo reads:

Chris and Mike Ellard at the grave of their great-uncle William G. Fishwick, killed in Belgium on 21st June 1915 aged 18 years. Taken at Kemmel Chateau Cemetery on 23rd May 2015.

The third photo is of Sam, aged 11, son of Mike Ellard and great-great nephew of Pte. Fishwick. He has a great interest in WW1 history and has visited Ypres on a few occasions.

William Fishwick is remembered in Horden on H130.05
