In Easington Lane (Durham Lane) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of :-

B.W. Prentice
Royal Garrison Artillery
5th April 1917 Age 29

Son of Joseph Prentice; husband of Florence Prentice, of New Shildon, Co. Durham.

The Journal 28/10/2016 reports the proposal to place a CWGC headstone over his grave.

He had been medically discharged from the army in 1916 and died in 1917 from tuberculosis. His wife was Florence, nee Dryden. Their address was in Tower Street, Easington Colliery. An appeal was sent out for any relatives to make contact.
