In Norton (St. Mary) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave of 53/211480 Private Richard Harrison, serving with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 30/10/1918.

Rev. David Youngson has provided the following:

The son of George Harrison and Sarah Ann Harrison of 27 Wrightson Street, Norton on Tees Richard was born at Norton on Tees. Enlisting at Middlesbrough he died on 30th October 1918 aged 18 at Cliffstone Camp, Nottingham.

Richard Harrison is remembered in Norton on N68.02 and in Stockton on S138.10 and S138.18a page 25
