In Chapelle – D’Armentieres Old Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 5/3625 Private Edward Cross, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 12/10/1915.

Rev. David Youngson states that he was born in King's Sutton, enlisted in Stockton and resided in Norton.

Edward Cross is remembered in Norton on N68.02, in Stockton on S138.18 page 12

He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 282
