In Bayeux War Cemetery, Normandy, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 177407 Flying Officer Edward Vallely, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 24/05/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

F/O Vallely was killed when his Hawker Typhoon JR527 TP-M of 198 Squadron was lost on a mission to attack a radar site on the Cherbourg Peninsula.

He is remembered in Billingham on B139.05 and at Port Clarence on P36.01
