In Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1084598 Sergeant John Chapman Stones, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 20/01/1944.

Sgt. Stones was killed when Handley Page Halifax V LK958 MP-Q of 76 Squadron was lost on a mission to Berlin. The Halifax was shot down and crashed near Luckstedt, 19 miles north-west of Stendal, Germany. Of the seven crew members, only two survived to become P.o.W.s.
