In Billingham (St. Cuthbert) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 10601357 Trooper William Thomas Marley, serving with the Reconnaissance Corps who died 10/07/1942.

Son of Thomas and Sarah Jane Marley, of Stockton-on-Tees, husband of Winifred Marley.

The headstone reads:-

Loving memory of
Sarah Jane Marley
a dear wife and mother
died 26th Sept. 1978
aged 83 years
Also her dear son
Tpr. William T. Marley
1st Reconnaissance Corps
Stockton-on-Tees
Killed on active service
10th July 1942
aged 21 years

William T. Marley is remembered in Stockton on Tees on S138.19 page 16
