On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1567540 Flight Sergeant Norman Haynes, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 18/04/1945.

It is believed that Flight Sgt. Haynes was killed in the loss of de Havilland Mosquito VI HP865 of 6 Coastal Operational Training Unit, which crashed into the sea off the Pembrokeshire coast after suffering an engine failure, with the loss of both crew members.

He is remembered in Billingham on B139.05, at Port Clarence P36.01 and at Stockton-on-Tees S138.34
