In Dozinghem Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 17783 Corporal A.E. Ironside, serving with the Royal Engineers who died 22/07/1917.

His granddaughter Madeleine Moon MP says:

The family did not know how he died but we were told it may have been in a gas attack. All records that have seen give no cause of death. If you have any further information regarding Albert I would be delighted to hear it.

I do know that he would not have imagined his granddaughter becoming an MP!
