127 The Lodge records have the following casualty:
Herbert Harvey HEWISON

A Leading Signalman residing in Ryhope, he was initiated into 2975 Lodge Benedict Biscop on 26th November 1917 aged 22; Passed 15th January 1918 and there are no records of any further advancement. He died from Pneumonia contracted from immersion at Sea after being torpedoed by an enemy submarine whilst engaged in the Merchant Marine. Lodge Records state that he died in December 1918.
