Summerson, H.W., 2nd Lieut., 1918
In Marfaux British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant H.W. Summerson, serving with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment who died 05/06/1918.

2nd Lieutenant Herbert Walker Summerson
The Royal North Lancashire Regiment
9th Battalion

The son of Mr and Mrs. H.W. Summerson of Garden House, Cockfield, Co. Durham . A Solicitor, he was Initiated on the 11th December 1914; Passed 12th March 1915 and Raised on the 14th May 1915. He died of wound on the 5th June 1918 aged 28 and is buried in Marfaux British Cemetery, Marne, France Grave Reference VII.D.6.

He is remembered at Cockfield on C112.01 and C112.03, at Bishop Auckland on B140.01, the Masonic Roll of Honour and County Durham Masonic Roll of Honour
