The Reading Evening Post 06/11/1965 reports:-Eleven die and 60 hurt in pile ups
Two people were killed and ten taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary as a result of a pile up of 40 cars in the fog at about midnight on the A1(M) at Spotborough near Doncaster.
An army corporal who was assumed to have fallen from the bridge in an attempt to avoid crashing cars was found dead thirty feet below two hours later. He was Corporal John Henry Price of the Loyal Regiment County Durham.
