In Reichswald Forest War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1001372 Sergeant Leslie English, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 29/09/1943.

Sgt. English was serving with 166 Squadron. He was a Flight Engineer of Lancaster III ED904 AS- which took off from Kirmington on a mission to Bochum. The aircraft crashed killing all the crew.

Lancaster ED904 AS-? had departed Kirmington at 1822 for Ops Bochum. It was intercepted at 5200M nr Bochum by a Night-Figher captained by Lt Otto Bruning (I/JG300) and shot down at 2212
