Son of Frederick and Bertha Carradus, of Perkinsville, Co. Durham.
A correspondent in 2007, writes that F(Frederick) Carradus was generally known as Eric.
"Both Eric and another school mate went around together, both Army mad, first they did a stint in the Army cadets then as they got older they both went into the Home Guard over at Pelton Fell where there was a D.L.I. platoon. The next thing we heard they had both got into the regular army, Eric was in the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, and his schoolmate was in the Airborne.
But alas there the information comes to a sorry end, Eric Carradus was killed in action on D-day + 6 in the attack on the city of Caen, and his schoolmate was killed at either Arnhem, or Nijmegan one of those bridges, two lads that Pop Anderson the old headmaster at the time and all of Pelton and Perkinsville shall remember."
Frederick Carradus is remembered at Pelton on P26.04 and P26.10
