John Denis, born in 1922 at Croydon was the son of Ernest and Bertha Elsden Hogden nee Walton, who had married in the Chester-le-Street District in 1921. In 1939 Ernest was a Mechanical Engineer living at 21 Springfield Avenue, Perkinsville, with his wife and children Ernest, 1927 and Sara, 1938.
John Denis Hogden is remembered at Pelton on P26.04 and as Hogdon P26.10
