Sgt. Duffy was serving with 640 Squadron. He was a crew member of Halifax III LW640 C8-J which took off from Leconfield on a mission to Dusseldorf. The aircraft crashed in Holland killing all but one crew member who was taken PoW.This was an evening when 45 aircraft were lost, most of the crews being killed.
