Kell, L., F/Sgt., 1944
In Hanover War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 417215 Flight Sergeant Lancelot Kell, serving with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, who died 14/01/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

F/Sgt. Kell was born at Chester-le-Street in 1914, and underwent training in New Zealand before moving to Canada, where he met and married his wife in Calgary, Alberta.

He was killed when Avro Lancaster II LL679 A2-J of 514 Squadron was lost on a mission to Braunschweig. The Lancaster was possibly the victim of a Luftwaffe night-fighter, being shot down and crashing near Dassel with the loss of all seven crew members.
