Sgt. Starkie was serving with 100 Squadron. He was a crew member of Lancaster III JB673 HW-P which took off from Grimsby on a sortie to Berlin. Whatever happened, none of the crew survived.
This was a night when 35 aircraft on a mission to Berlin were lost, each carrying a crew of 7.
