Son of S. Thompson (formerly Finlay), of 42, Long Rigg, Swalwell, and the late Robert Finlay.

Edward Finlay is remembered at Swalwell on S85.01 and at Whickham on W86.10

He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 236
