In Becourt Military Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt, France is the Commonwealth war Grave of 22/780 22nd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 10/06/1916.

Then in Christ he sleepeth sweetly lovingly remembered.

On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France is the name of 19690 Private Joseph William Burrows serving with the C Company 10th Northumberland Fusiliers who died 07/07/1916.

Sons of James and Louisa Burrows, of 41, Clifford Terrace, Crawcrook, Ryton-on-Tyne.

In Ryton Holy Cross Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
James Burrows
died 12th May 1930
Also his wife Louisa
Died 18th Jan. 1939
and their two sons
Privates James Henry and Joseph William
Killed on the Somme 1916.

Both brothers are remembered at Clara Vale on C96.01 and at Ryton on R33.01
