In Lonsdale Cemetery Authuille is the Commonwealth War Grave of 16/1183 Private James Clark serving with 16th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

Brenda Mcmahon has submitted the following :-

James was born at Kibblesworth and enlisted into the Army at Newcastle. He was killed in action on the Somme 1 July 1916.

Lonsdale Cemetery now contains 1542 Commonwealth burials and commemorations of WW1. There are special memorials to 22 casualties known or believed to be buried among them.

James Clark is remembered at Kibblesworth on K23.02
