Morpeth Herald 29/12/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Private Alfred William Wood, West Yorks, has died of wounds received in action. He was [the] eldest son of the late William Wood, Lisburn Villa, and grandson of the late Wm. Taylor, East Parade, Alnwick.
