In Imphal War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4464399 Lance Serjeant George Wightman, serving with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 03/06/1944.

In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

To the
dear
memory
of
Walter Wightman
lost on H.M.S. "Fiji"
at Crete May 23rd 1941
aged 16 years.
George Wightman
killed in action,
Burma, June 3rd 1944
Aged 24 years.
William C. Crooks
died Dec. 17th 1945
