In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of Lieutenant Idris Knox Patton serving with the Wireless Telegraph School Royal Air Force who died 25/11/1918.

The headstone reads:-

In loving memory
of
Lieut. Idris Knox Patton, R.A.F.
Only child of
James Patton ?M.R.C.M. and Hannah Elizabeth ??
Born March 8th 1880
Died at Tidworth Military Hospital
November 25th 1918

He is remembered in Gateshead on G39.004 page 93
