In Ontario Cemetery, Sains-les-Marquion is the Commonwealth War Grave of 325111 Private W.M. Lee, serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers who died 06/04/1918.

In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

John Robert, their beloved son
died Feb. 16th 1919 aged 31 years
after four years service overseas.
Teddie, beloved grandchild
of the above
died Feb. 16th 1919 aged 3 years.
William, their beloved son
died of wounds received in action
April 6th 1918 aged 27 years.
Mary Aleia,
their only beloved daughter
died Feb. 21st 1899 aged 5 years.
Their children
George, Joseph & Bertram
died in infancy.
Edward, their eldest son
died May 30th 1938 aged 51 years.

Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Benwell and enlisted in Gateshead. He first served with the Northumberland Fusiliers with the service number 365666.
