In Faenza War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14658852 Private Joseph Spurrs, serving with the Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment) who died 08/10/1944.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 19/10/1946 and 18/10/1947 both carry a notice which reads:

“Spurrs - Felling Shore, Joe, killed in action, Italy, Oct 8th, 1944.”
