In Bulskamp Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4337402 Serjeant George Henry Sheader, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 31/05/1940.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 20/07/1945 carries a notice which reads:

“Sheader – George (D.L.I.) killed May 31st, 1940”

He is remembered in Durham on D47.01a page 35
