In Provin Communal Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4337382 Warrant Officer Class III William Norman Thompson, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 26/05/1940.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 15/05/1946 and 15/06/1946 both carry a notice which reads:

“Thompson – Felling, Norman, killed May 26th, 1940. D.L.I.”
