"Last of 3 brothers who won M.M.
The death of Mr. Robert Williams (61), of White Street, Felling, recalls the unique record of three brothers who each gained the Military Medal while serving in the 9th D.L.I. in World War 1.
They were Robert (M.M. and bar), Thomas (M.M. and bar) who died seven years ago and Hugh (M.M. and Croix de Guerre) who died 20 years ago. Robert worked for 40 years at Heworth Colliery."
