In Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14606854 Private James Mereday, serving with the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry who died 16/02/1944.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 15/03/1947 and 13/03/1948 both carry an In Memoriam notice which reads:

“Mereday – Felling – Jim, killed in action, Anzio, Italy, Feb.16th, 1945."
