Lackenby, T., Sgt., 1943

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 19/10/1946

In Durnbach War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1590747 Sergeant Thomas Lackenby, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 04/10/1943.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 19/10/1946 carries an In Memoriam notice which reads:

“Lackenby – Felling – Tom, missing Oct. 4/5th, 1943, R.A.F.

Sgt. Lackenby was serving with 75 Squadron. He was a crew member of Stirling III EF130 JN-M which took off from Mepal on a mission to Frankfurt. The aircraft crashed, killing all the crew.
