In Kanchanaburi War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 6210435 Fusilier Robert Henry Daniels, serving with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers who died 15/06/1943.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 20/07/1945 carries an In Memoriam notice which reads:

“Daniels – 8 Falla Park Road, Felling, Fusilier R.H. Daniels, 9th R.N.F., died June 15, 1943, while P.O.W. in Thailand.”

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 17/07/1948 gives a different address:

"Daniels, 1 Hill Crest, Heworth Colliery, Robert H., died in Thailand, June 15, 1943."
