Liddle, H., Pte., 1917
In Mendinghem Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 30757 Private Harold Liddle, serving with the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) who died 16/09/1917.

John Taylor and Ann Norman have submitted the following:

Harold Liddle was born in Felling in about 1896, the fourth of five children of Joseph and Ruth Liddle. In 1911 the family lived in Windy Nook. Joseph was a butcher and Harold was employed as a coal miner.

He served as a Private with the Durham Light Infantry, regimental number 28245, and later transferred to the Machine Gun Corps, regimental number 30757. He died of his wounds on the Western Front on 16th September 1917.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 E50.02 and E50.04
