Davison, J.J., Pte., 1916
In Meaulte Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 18815 Private John James Davison, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 06/07/1916.

John Taylor and Ann Norman have submitted the following:

John Davison was born in Perkinsville, County Durham, in about 1884. He married Margaret, at Gateshead Registry Office on 4th April 1908. They had one son and three daughters. They lived at 14 Boundary House, Wrekenton, and John was employed as a coal miner.

He enlisted in Birtley as a Private with 12th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, regimental number 18815. He died of his wounds on the Western Front on 6th July 1916.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 and E50.02 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 174
